The Dana Farber Cancer Institute, a leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment, has unveiled its new laboratory fit-out within Boston’s Longwood Medical Area. This new lab has been expertly designed to advance the institute’s mission to deepen our understanding of cancer, improve diagnoses, enhance treatments, discover cures, and prevent the disease and its related conditions. To achieve this vision, the space has been outfitted with pre-plumbed and pre-wired Optima freestanding benches, providing the flexibility that’s crucial in a dynamic research setting. The Optima benches are deliberately constructed to make the most of the workspace and to integrate smoothly with the scientific workflow. Additionally, the incorporation of wire shelving and mobile wood veneer cabinets enhances the lab’s storage solutions, ensuring optimal organization. Harvard Series fume hoods are installed throughout the space, offering full sightlines and protection against the hazards associated with chemical usage. The design of this lab reflects Dana Farber’s commitment to promote collaboration, innovation, and exceptional research.
